How many times you had that incredible idea,
And you bring it to your friend or to your family
Then you share it with them and they shut it down?
I’m sure every single time.
But the question is Why?
Because they don’t see it, and the fact that they don’t see it is because it is in your imagination, and the only person who can see your imagination, is you.
This is why IMAGINATION is there for.
Picture what happened to one of the most successful users and believers of their imagination.
This man saw all kinds of suffering, he came up from rock bottom.
When he was a teen boy studying in school as all his peers.
He had a serious stuttering problem, he couldn't talk outside of his house. He stuttered for years.
One day in school, there was an assignment given to them, they were asked to take a piece of paper and write what they want to be.
He picked up his paper as everybody did and wrote down: “I want to be on TV”. Then the teacher went around the room reading the papers and asked them to stand up when she calls their names.
Other students were like: “I want to be a doctor, lawyer, basketball player, dentist, football player…”
But he wanted to be on TV. So she saved him for last and then called his name and invited him to step to the front. He was thinking that she called him to the front because he got the right answer since nobody else put that on their papers.
He was waiting for her to give him the gold star, but he was wrong about that. She actually called him to humiliate him and was like:
“Why did you write this on your paper?”
And he couldn’t even talk and was just stuttering after every single thing she said.
“Who in this school had ever been on TV?”
“Who in your family had ever been on TV?”
“Who in this neighborhood had ever been on TV?”
“You can’t even say a word, how do you think they will put someone like you on TV?”.
He didn’t answer back at that time . He answered later.
You know what happened?
After years of flunking out of school and homelessness and losing everything he ever owned twice, working coffee and sleeping in parks. He never ever gave up on his dream, and he neve ever doubted his imagination. He kept hanging on those written words on that paper
and believed that what he was imagining would come true one day.
Later, every Christmas, he sat on her flash screen TV. She was not able to miss even an episode of him because he was all over that TV, she couldn't turn that TV on without seeing that little boy who was stuttering everywhere behind the screen. He showed her what God has done for him. And the fact she couldn’t see it is because God put it in his imagination, not in hers.
That man was Steve Harvey.
So here is the non-negotiable lesson you must learn and understand.
What you think about shapes your life, the picture you imagine about yourself becomes your reality. You must pay attention to what you have in your imagination because it is not just a fictional space, but a factual future you there.
Your imagination is such a powerful blessing. It is unlimited white pieces of paper on which you paint your desires and goals and your life structure, and then you print them out.
It has nothing to do with logic. Logic will get you only to some particular places, but imagination will get you everywhere. It is the preview of the unseen that is coming.
Reality is an imagination shaped already.
Give yourself the chance to sit down for 5 minutes each day and use that imagination for visualizing a life you love to live, and then it will attract you to it in each step you take without even realizing that. Because it is all that you see and think of. It is all that your life goes forward to.
Here is what happens to me most of the time, I get to think of some imaginable scenarios picturing myself acting a certain way and somehow I find myself living it.
We only become what we think about .
Trust your imagination as a little kid and immerse yourself into it, picture what you want to have, what you want to do, what you want to become, where you want to be, how you would live, with whom you would live. Do it as a little child not as an adult, do it with no bit of doubt and with no questions.
When you get an idea in mind. and you imagine yourself having something or getting somewhere or doing such a thing, and you really love it and then you tell it to somebody else and they start saying bad and negative things about it, DON NOT give up on your imagination.
And more importantly, keep it for yourself. Because they can not see it but you can. And because God brings it to your mind not to theirs. All you need to do is to keep hanging on that thought. God does not give you things and brings you to places to leave you.
Go home and sit there and ask God to open up your imagination and pursuit with everything in you and then great stuff will happen for you.
Albert Einstein did not say for no reason that: “ Imagination is everything, it is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”.
You do this and you will be compelled to do some actions, then celebrate your wins and let go of your present state, to get who you want to be later through that space of your imagination.
